Installation Kits
I own a 86 trans am and I was looking at crutchfield.com and there were four different kits for my car. I dont know which one to buy. One kit says "1982-up, chassis sizes U & I, rack-mount". "1985-up, chassis sizes S & E" .5 inch extension", "1985-up, S/E, 1-inch extension", and finally "1985-up, S/E. I dont know if I need an extension or not and dont know if my chasis size is U and I or S and E. Please help.

What are you trying to install? Is it a single DIN cd player? CD and EQ? If it's just a standard single DIN unit, just go to walmart and get the adapter kit for your car, it's cheaper than crutchfield.

Yeah...I dunno...I ALWAYS look around b4 i buy anything online... alot of people would be surprised the deals you can get right in your own city theres always sales and discounts...and dont forget warrenties...

just pick up any kit that says it fits the 82-92 camaro/firebird. scoche (sp?) and metra are the two best. there are only two stereo related products id buy from walmart: install kits and wiring. $10-15 for the kit and you're done. the U, I, S, and E things are a little complicated, but nothing to worry about.
