Can't tell whether my sub is 4ohm or 8ohm?
Can someone help? I'm trying to figure out whether my sub is 4 or 8 ohm. It is a non name brand sub that I received from Taiwan as a sample product, but the manufacturer didn't supply a spec sheet for it. I am really interested to see what this sub will do with my MTX amp. The speaker looks to be of very good construction, I'll get a pic up later tonight of it.
I have a multimeter, but will that tell me whether it's 4 or 8?

I tried the multimeter, but it's lowest setting is 1k ohms, so obviously it won't even show up. Oh well, I'll just throw it in the box tomorrow and hook it up, we'll find out! Thanks for your help tho
As for the sub, too bad I didn't have about $1000 lying around. I can get 100 of them for about 1k bux!

do you know if they are marketed toward home or car audio? usually (but as always, there are exceptions) home speakers tend to be 8 ohm, while car speakers tend to be anywhere between 2-4 (some less, some more, but not too often).

Hey , what kinda meter do you have an analog or a digital? Either way it should be able to disinguish 4 from 8 ohms on the 1K range. My analog and digital meters all can
