will I blow these infinity's??

I have 4 infinity's that I want to run with a 2-channel amp...

a pair of Infinity KAPPA462.5CFP (4x6s 60watt RMS @4ohms)

and a pair of Infinity KAPPA693.5I (6x9s 110watt RMS @4ohms)

one channel to each set of speakers from a JVC KS-AX4700
(2-8 ohm capable, 100watt RMS per channel @4ohms 20hz-20khz)

How can I wire the 4x6s up so that the 100watts won't hurt them? should I do them parrallel or series??

I'd say basiclly you'd want to run them the same way a component set is set up. The 4x6's will be shredded in short time with trying to equal out the bass response and all with the 6x9's since they have a woofer built in and 4x6's are a mid range. It may or not be a good idea to run them all from a 2 channel.

If it was me, I'd run the 4x6's from the head unit or swap the 2 channel with someone for a 4 channel. If not, you might have unwanted distortion.

But you need something with a x-over in or with a 4 channel for it to sound good.

If you're not stupid you won't blow them.

You can safely power a clock radio speaker with a 500 watt amp. All you have to do is DON'T crank it beyond the point of distortion. Use a little common sense and if it starts to sound like ***, turn it down. It would also be quite wise to run the 4x6s with a 150hz (or higher) high pass filter, and if you're running a sub, run a high pass filter on the 6x9s too.

Huh? Is this a 2 channel amp or a 4 channel amp? Running 2 pairs of speakers off of a 2 channel amp is going to eliminate any potential to adjust their volumes independantly (i.e. no fader control).

Yeah, it's a 2-channel amp. This is a temporary setup until I get seperate amps for each set of spakers, but for now I have to make this work.

why not run the front speakers off the head unit? With a high pass filter, they won't have a need for high power anyway.

I was looking at getting these for my front 4x6 speakers that I'm running off my rockford HU. Crutchfield says to get the 800 Hz cut-off. What do you think?

Jim: the headunit is unpowered, according to him. I believe he's trying to run one 4x6 and one 6x9 per channel on the amp. You could wire them both coming straight off the terminals on the amp, but you'd end up with 2ohms per channel. Figure out the power rating of the amp at 2ohms, and basically divide it by two to see how much power each speaker is trying to handle. If it's too much, you'll have to wire them in series at 8ohms, which your amp should be able to handle, and probably won't be too much power for any of the speakers.

800hz cutoff is perfect for 4x6s
