Blown Fuse for Hatch release, door locks, and overhead light....
Blown Fuse for Hatch release, door locks, and overhead light....
Somebody please help me...I have blown a fuse and I have no clue on what caused it....I found the fuse that was blown and I replaced it, then the second fuse blew within a minute...Lastly, I put one more in and it has seemed to held off this time...It has been on there for a little bit, but I need to know what could be causing them to blow...I was thinking it might be my radio because I have installed a lot of parts to the radio....Then, I was thinking there has to be a shortage too...Someone please help me.....
Don't know if the cigarette lighter is on the same fuse circuit but I would replace the fuse and then use the cig. lighter to see if that's what blowing the fuse. Check on the work you did with the radio (bare wires touching metal, switched cables..)

i had this same problem. i didnt really want to screw w/ it so i just wired a new constant to my stereo and dealt w/o the int. lights and horn (which sucked by the way). then, a couple of weeks ago, the fuse for the parking lights and dash lights blew. my dad suggested i replaced the headlight switch. it was a b*tch but i got it done and it solved the problem. i dont know that that is ya'll problem but thats what i would say. even if it doesnt work, a least you will have it replaced and the part is less than $15 i think.

p.s. mine took 1.5-2 hrs to do. not too bad for having to take out the instrument panel to get to the switch. plus its not blowing fuses anymore.

I am with dsaint1347. I tore my interior apart looking for that problem and it was the cig. lighter. The element came loose and would blow the fuse. Tightened it up been OK ever since.

Well, I now have officially got bigger problems than a blown fuse. That same day I replaced the broken fuse, my car started to smoke for some strange odd reason. The worst part about it was that it was on my way to prom...
.. I have checked all the fuses, and made sure that there are no shortages. My ciggerette lighter hasn't worked for years, and before that nothing was wrong with it. That is definately not the problem. I haven't had anytime to deal with this yet due to the fact I had absolutely no sleep that night, and was sleeping all day the next day. So, I am posting this all up so somebody could help me fix this problem...I am sooooo damn pissed off that I fix one problem, and then another one happens...
.....All I ask for is someone that knows what this could possibly be and then tell me how to fix this problem....
