i prefer the kicker 3-way DX46. The speakers under the dash are 4x6's

If your just runnin them off hte CD player, Boston Accoustics sound amazing off of head unit power...tehy are a very efficient speaker, and for about $80, alot cheaper than kappas and memphis' (I think)

Front Speakers...

If you are willing to modify...you can always buy a piece of sheet metal or aluminum and fit a set of mids and tweets in the dash. I had a welder make me up new brackets and cut holes for a set of 5 1/4 mids and tweets. In the rear I did the same thing but went with larger speakers.

I've got a set of the alpine 4x6 plates in my dash that I'm pretty happy with. I would say definently get plates, unless you're gonna do something custom to fit a set of components in there. But if you're going to do all that I'd just do kick panels instead of dash speakers. In contrast, my brother just has regular 4x6s in his dash, and I don't like the way they sound at all.

I have a set of Diamond Audio 4" 2-way speakers that come with a 4X6 adapter plate I am selling. They wouldn't fit in my TA because of the well known air vent, but they'll fit in your Camaro with no problem. They are awesome speakers that I am bummed I cannot use. I paid over $150 for the set and am willing to let them go for half of that. PM me if anyone is interested.

You are more than welcome to them, but you'll have the same problem I had. Unless you have no problem modifying your air vent on the driver's side.

Are you using bass blockers with your polks? i'm using the strongest ones. They sound great with my alpine 7892 and i have a sony 760w driving the infiniti kappa 6x9's. The polks are drivin off the head, they match rms.

No, I'm not using bass blockers, I just set the crossover on my Alpine 9813 head unit.

I'm also new to car audio and I don't want to make another thread so I figured I can just ask in here. If you're going to replace the ones under the dash, you need to use an adaptor plate?
