ive had 3. the first one was stolen. the second one, i had in my car for some time. i never really had any problems with it, except sometime when you turned the rotary volume, it wouldnt change the volume and if you were trying to turn it up it sometimes went down. it was very strange, but it rarely happened and when it did it almost always did it at the same range on the dial. i pulled that one in favor of nicer clarion. motorized flip out face, 3 rca preouts, the works. it had more problems, two that i know of. the first was my fault. i tried to wire two pairs of speakers to 2 ohms to the front speaker outlets. didnt work too well especially when i turned it up. wasnt long before those 2 channels blew. so, i got a 4 channel amp, which is what i had wanted to do evitially anyways and this gave me a reason to do it. that amp could take the 2 ohm load and i could hook up the rear 6x9s to it also. sounded so much better anyways. then i tried to rearrange my setup. i dont know if i grounded the rcas in the process or what but i couldnt keep the speakers from emitting some terrible noise. i thought it was alternator whine, but it wasnt. i just said screw it. i had the place i worked at when i bought the hu send it to clarion to fix. i wasnt about to wait 6-8 weeks to listen to music though, so i bought a pioneer hu. similar in features to the clarion, but i think it is much better. it seems to be more user friendly and nicer looking.

as for the last clarion, i told my brother when they were done with it, he could use it until my gf got her car. didnt cost me anything to get it fixed, and since the shop had it at one of their other stores and took them like 3-4 extra weeks to get it back, i got a $25 gift certificate to boot. my brother has the better clarion in his car, and it works great as far as i can tell and he hasnt complained about it yet. the clarion i had second is in my gf's car. she drives a conv. mustang and i told her until she gets an alarm, she isnt getting the better cd player. so my second clarion has been used almost continuasly for about 2.5 years.

i like my pioneer better, but i was happy with my clarions.
