Memory Problem

I installed a cheap aftermarket CD player in my car today, and everything works fine, except for the memory feature. If I shut off the car and then start it again, the cd player with be off and the clock reset every time. There was a wire for this feature, and it was labeled "memory 12+". I was wondering if this was supposed to just be hooked up to a 12 volt source, or if there was a separate wire for it. I had a wiring diagram, and most of the wires were listed as different colors then they actually were and I had to figure it all out on my own, so telling me the color or the wire (if there is a separate wire) won't help. The stock stereo was the optional Delco version with the equalizer. There were 4 plugs a a coaxial cable for the antenna that went into this. Two of the connectors were exclusively for the speakers, there was another connector under that, and one more with only two wires. I don't remember at the moment what each wire was, but if one supplies the power for the memory feature, could someone please tell me which one? Thanks ahead of time!

Hook the mem wire to a constant 12v source, like the cig lighter wire.

you should already have a constant 12 near the other wires in there.. it should be yellow

if you have a loose yellow wire in there.. that's probably it
