ok, Im not old, but Im out of that high school "everybody should hear me coming stage" and now I am where I want to just have my music sound GREAT.

My new Z came with MB Quartz all the way around so I am going to leave them in there. But my 350w Phoenix Gold amp, and 12" Kicker Comp VR are goin out, maybe into the womans car who wants a system.

But anyway, Could I get a small, maybe 50-75wx4 and run those MB Quartz for mids. and then run maybe 100-200w to like 1 or 2 8" subs.

What would you recommend, 1 or 2 8", is 8" to small. I want it to be balanced, and at low levels an 8" will do that, but I still want it to hit 1/2 decent, not pound, but hit hard enough to still sound balanced and not distorted near top volumes.

Myself and my cousin had Kicker 8s for a while. They hit pretty good. But if you are used to the low notes that the 12 puts out, I dont think you are going to be happy with 8s.

I tend to like the sound of bigger subs, or at least a 10" in a slightly oversized enclosure. I'm not a fan of how most 8s sound. Overall it boils down to personal preference, so just go listen to as much stuff as you can.

Just remember that 1 12" sounds the same as 4 12s... it's just not as loud. Going with 1 12" instead of a pair of 8s will play louder and (in my opinion) sound better, but not cost any more nor take up any extra floor space.
