Best sound
whoa that question also can pose many others as well. this is because it depends on many different things as to whether or not the subs would be louder facing upwards or at a slant. biggest thing is what kind of box you have and what kind of air your subs are pushing. in most cases people just lay their subs/box facing upwards and the sounds bounces off the rear hatch. it's easier to do and you dont have to worry about your cubic feet of airspace as much, or you could do what i did facing the subs into the dip in the trunk it wont make the subs louder you will lose about a decibel or two but it sure helps make my 2 10"s that i have sound deeper!

I built a similar box for a friend that had the sub facing straight back. It pounds. It's hard to say if it's louder than the same stuff in a different configuration because I never had a conventional box with the same equipment in his car, but with the stuff it has now, the results really impressed me. It got a lot louder than I expected it to.

ya, it is really loud, but the only problem is that if the sub has to much excursion it will hit the back panel. The alpine I had was fine, but the eclipse hits the back plastic panel w/ the aluminum cone. I have to build a new box now, Damn.
