It all depends on what you are looking for. Sound quality, I would go with Alpine, Infinity Perfect series, or the Shiva from Adire Audio. Loud bass I would go with Kicker, Rockford HX2 series, or the Brahma (also good sound quality, but loud as hell) from Adire Audio. Other good subs are Elemental designs O series. Sub quality only matters when they are put in the right box though, so make sure you build the perfect enclosure. This range goes from $115-$350 so its all in what you want to spend. If you have the money, id go with the brahma sub. It is killer. Check it out on caraudioforum.com. People talk about them all the time.
