new update: My HU was set on -3 bass (-/+ 6 ratio) before when I was testing it with sub setting max'd out. I guess my HU bass settings effect all channels not just speakers. I decided to play with settings I set the mode to beat first and it sound'd better, then I cranked the bass to +6 and it really pounds... we're talking 15 volume with new settings sounds like 25 with old. I cranked it up slowly to 35 volume and still clear from the subs no distortion or clipping guess that's cause I'm overpowering them by 300 watts .

My doors are rattling like mothers and I have already blew the door seals at the top corner of the door itself that seal the inside window area up... I'm gonna reseal those up this weekend. I did a quick fix on the hatch (duct taped the sucker) that way it at least doesn't get dust on my subs and amps. I'll silicone that up this weekend too hopefully. Probably put a bead along the outside of the hatch glass where it meets the decklid just for good measure also.

I'm think I'm gonna run out to walmart tonight to fill up on gas (3 cents off with discount card) and I'm gonna pick up a disposable camera and get some pics for you guys. I get off at 11 so it really plans on if I feel like it or not. No worries I swear I will get pics eventually.

Took 9 pics already from dead on center to angles with both flash and non flash. Also took one with a cd laid out on it. I'll get some more tomorrow. The amps look really cool they light up neon orange on the inside. And the caps mounted down the center show red and green since there digital.

I'll take some more tomorrow... I don't know if I can get a good excursion pic without a bass cd and a non toss away kodak camera but I'll try. I'll make sure I get some in cab shots too looking back at the subs, through the mirror and I'll try to get one of the mirror rattling with the volume up.

I should have them developed by tomorrow if not friday.

Well I must be getting enough power to them. They're jumping at least an inch above the top mounting ring. I've got a new problem now. Hey petey you were right! The surrounds are bouncing off the hatch plastic. LAF! Now I have to pull that off and see if there's enough clearance with the plastic off. If there is I might have to modifiy my old cover or fiberglass a new one.

Anyone else have this problem. Probably due to the fact that I had to mount these things so high.

Cause my dust on the hatch had little slash marks from the indents on the surround (my kickers have slashes on top of the surrounds). It looks like it barely touches though... if I can get 1/4 inch of clearence to an 1/2 inch at most more it will fit fine from the looks. Unless the subs grow more from not being pound'd off the hatch. Only really happens under extreme bass 25 (maybe higher) and up Volume.

I think I can fix it... I'll pull the hatch trim piece off and clean the metal then put a light coat of dust on it then then see if still rattles off it. If it doesn't I'll try to heat up the plastic and mold it a little more to the metal or maybe modifiy it in some other way.

If I can't I'll just take it back in and tell them they need to change it.

Yeah, the box could have been better. Some of the corners the carpet is trimmed a little to close. I think I fixed the hatch rattle... I took a torch to the plastic got it nice and hot then bent it in with the handle end to a screwdriver. I know I know you guys want pics. We'll I sorry but you're just gonna have to wait....... nah just messing with you guys!

Here's a teaser!!!

If you guys want to see the setup go to my sounddomain page. I'm not gonna take up a crap load of bandwidth here... make sure you chime in the guest book also and vote for what you guys think. I know the page has spelling errors on it but I was typing really fast just trying to get it posted for everyone to see.

Well the bottom is designed like regular hatch box, but a little different. It's built so it can't be removed. It was the only way to do it to milk as much space possible out of the well. I think the sides go around 6" forward over the gas tank hump... I can measure it for you guys if you want.

The only problem is the hatch peice... the subs hit off it... I think I have that fixed now... I have yet to put it back on though.

Thanks! I pulled the subs back out this weekend. I already have acouple air leaks. Some around the wires coming in the box guessing there wasn't enough silicone to hold up to the pressure. I also have air leaks around the subwoofers themselves the shop left the carpet there and they didn't hit all the wood with the screws. I'm gonna go back and silicone everything up including all the other corners and joints to just make sure and I picked up some Plumber's Putty (kicker recommends it) for making a gasket around the subs face.

Hopefully I will have it back together and pounding by next week. Can't wait to see what it's gonna be like with all the leaks fixed, considering it was probably leaking right out of the shop.
