what is with X2 etc?

what is with X2 etc?

what does the number mean after the wattage on an amp, like 150x1 or 300x2? Is the second number the subwoofers or does it mean channels?

the number after X is the number of channels.

Dang you reply to my post with a smart answer then ask a dumb question lol. J\k its the amount of power going through each chanel just like 30x2 that means 30 watts are going through each chanel

Yep, x 2 mean stereo. x 1 means bridged mono. You can hook up as many speakers as you want.

im sorry peeps, ok so say an amp says 400W RMSX1.@ 2 ohms.....hooked up to 2 12" subs, is the wattage going to one of the subs going to be 200W? 400/2 =200

If you got 2 4ohm subs in parallel, then yes.
