Update sound system

I am looking to update my trans am's sound system. I don't want anything that is "booming", just something that sounds good when the windows are rolled down. What type of speakers should I get that are of good quality and what type of radio/cd player should I look for.

I've heard several subs, and IMHO, Audiobahn has the most accurate bass. With a good amp with plenty of damping, it should be very good. Make sure they are in the right size box. See the manufacturers specs. That's really all I wanted out of my system. I'm not trying to win any SPL contest. Infinity Kappa's, MB Quartz, Boston Accoustics are all good. It's very hard to pick out a car speaker, because listening rooms are nothing like a car interior, but I wouls say to go listen to them until you can't stand it any more, and buy what you like best, and live with your decision.
