amp help
hey everybody.. i have a question.. i have a stereo that i am going to be installing in to my 1987 pontiac trans am gta convertable, and it is a kenwood deck i dont know the model number but it does have 2 sets of out puts on it, my amp is a pioneer number gmx-334 and the speakers i am hooking up are pioneer tsa 6969 and 4646 now i took this out of my lumina z34 which had the bose system and i didnt really pay attention to how my installer hooked it up.. but being that the trans am doesnt have the bose system in it. i have no idea how to run the speaker wires to the amp or how to do it like is it as simple as running four sets of speaker wire to the amp connections giving the amp power and its done or is there more than that???.. i can do the reciever part fine i have done numerious ones of those, i just have no idea how to install the amp.. so if somebody could put me in the right direction, because i want all speakers hooked up to the amp and they only had it hooked up with 2 channels instead of 4 so i didnt have fad control on my deck which was nice.. but any help would be greatly appriciated..
thanks
thanks

There will be a blue/white or blue wire coming off of the receiver for the REM (remote activate, used to turn the amp on and activate the power antenna if you have one), you will need a good portion of wire, I used 18 ga, and run that wire to the REM terminal on the amp, it should be in the power block next to the +12VDC and GND terminals. For the speakers, t depends on how you want to set them up. I had my speakers running off of the receiver and the amp driving my single 12" sub, but I have a t-top car, not a 'vert. You will need to run a wire from the battery back through the car to the amp, and a fuse to connect into this line. Buy the fuse size recommended on the amp. This is not hard, but the biggest PITA is running the wires to and from the speakers and amp, as you will have to remove some of the interior trim. You will need a philips screwdriver, 9/32" nutdriver or socket, 1/4" nutdriver or socket, and a good set of Torx bits or an Allen wrench set. Not having a convertable, I can't give you much in the way of specifics, but you will need to remove the driver's door trim and the dashpad to access the front speakers. You will need to remove the speaker grills from the dashpad, but do it carefully and you can sell them to get some money back, or save them for when you sell the car, if you sell it, that is, to install most new 4x6 speakers, as they are usually too tall for our shallow wells. Big magnets are also a concern here, as the stock speakers did not have much room around the magnets, which were pretty small anyways. Pull out the rocker trim (the part under the door when it is closed), the lower seatbelt attachments (to remove the rocker panels, but it is possible to remove the panels without touching the seatbelts, but it requires a lot of force, and the lower seat trim at least. Again, not having a vert, I have no idea where the rear speakers are mounted nor the layout of the rear of the body. You will have to work this for yourself.

basics
im just gonna write down a buncha stuff you may know some and not other stuff,
the amp has things on both side you have to conect wires to, if you dont have the wire you have to go get them make sure you get the right size wires or it may sound bad, not as loud or distorted
unplug you battey very first off!!!!!!
1. power wires, to the batterysimple amp kit from best buy walmart circiut city will do you fine, dont cheap out and get a too small one, wire comes off battery, 18" later usually you put a fuse for what ever your amp is rated to like 20 amp fuse or something (its included in the amp kit) save you thinking and trouble then wire the wire from there to your amp where ever it may be, how you get the wire there is completely up to you, (dont put amp in hood bay, if you didnt know, im thinking your arent dum)
2. rca's get your self a good set of rca's well insulated one are good, means less interferance and distortion, for a 4 channel you will need one made for the four channel or two made for 2 channels, you need it to have 2 red and 2 black at both sidesplug in to the two pre outs on the deck and then into the two pre outs on the amp, bam done easy...
3. ground wire, next to the power wire terminal on the amp thats the + there will be a - terminal thats the ground terminal, the amp kit comes with a ground, its a short black wire, blot one end to body metal, a good metal to metal contact is best, then attach to - terminal on amp, bam done...
4. remote wire, its by the power and ground teminals, very help ful this one is, it tells the amp to turn on, on the back of the deck there should be a remote wire, should be a label on the deck telling what wires are what, so find it and hook the wire provided in the amp kit (thin wire its black or blue in my expirences) to the deck attechment and then the amp remote wire teminal
5. wire each speaker to appropriate channels with some speakers wire radio shack has spools of the stuff for cheap, label the wires at both ends for later reference, channel 1 and 2 for the front and 3 and 4 for the rear,
ill respond later some more about the amps setting if you want im just so ding dang tired i need to go to bed!
