2 ?'s - Bose and 6x9's
Please don't bring the hate if these have been asked before, well, ok if they've been asked millions of times ;-) - sorry, I didn't search first this time.
What made up a complete Bose system if it was ordered on a camaro? You guessed it, I' have thought of trying to piece a Bose system together for my IROC...... Maybe it's not cost-effective, maybe it wouldn't even sound good with old Bose speakers/HU's etc - please feel more than free to comment on the old Bose systems - I'm just seeking info right now and I don't have a clue how they worked.
Second question - what 6x9's fit and sound good in the sail pannel locations? If it's easier, say which don't fit or should be avoided. Interested to hear what some of you are running there and what you like in that location.
Thanks all,
K

No clue on the BOSE stuff, but I am runnin a couple of rockford 3 way 6x9's in the sail panels.
They sound nice but they kinda poke at the panels a bit.
nothing major though.

One Speaker in each kick panel and 2 speakers in the rear hatch storage cover made up the Fatory BOSE system in the IROC's. There is also a Relay connected to the BOSE wiring harness so don't forget to take that if you find a parts car !!
The 87 to 90 BOSE systems came with 2 tweeters inthe front and 2 4" woofers in the hatch.
The 91 and 92 BOSE "Gold" systems had a tweeter in the left kick panel, a midrange in the right kick panel and 2 6" woofers in the rear hatch.
I added the factory BOSE system to my Berlinetta and really liked the results. Sounds great and it's stock. Then I added 4 more speakers to the system and it really rocks now ! It's not overpowerful and sounds great at high volume. I used the factory Berlinetta deck and an interface rather than a BOSE headunit so that I had a Equalizer to use. (The BOSE systems only use BASS and TREBLE.
