I have a dream.

I was cruising around SoundDomain and started to dream a little.

Here's what I have for a plan tell me wat you think of it.

Pioneer DEH-P47DH head unit
Pioneer CDX-P1280 12 disc changer
Blaupunkt Tsx462 4x6s
Kicker K-Series 02K963 6x9s
Kicker K-Series 02K60 6.5s
Kicker Comp VR 03CVR102 Subs
Kicker 02KX600.4 Amp (for the subs)
Kicker 02KX800.4 Amp (for the 6x9s and 6.5s)

I want to put the 6.5s in a kick panel box.
I don't know very much about stereo systems except never buy Sony and mine sucks.

Also, would I need a new alternator or cap for this or would it be fine stock?

i wouold ditch the 4x6's, but other then that sounds like a decent set up.
your stock alt should be able to keep up with the current draw, but i would upgrade the wireing under the hood goin from the alt to the battery and the battery ground.

I would also personally go with the 77DH over the 47, but both are nice.

lol just had to check the "no your stupid, go away" because thats funny to me. Well.. the design on those subs just... look kinda odd to me. Sure they could be the perfect subs for your system but.. I just favor some other designs over that one, but what ever floats your boat

What's weird about the subs? Sure they're not super blingin' (thank g0d) but I don't see anything wrong with them. Anybody else think I should ditch the 4x6s?

I would use 6.5 comp set instead of 6x9s in the rear. make a plate out of 1/4" ply wood.

Also, are component speakers better than 2/3-ways?

There is two sides to this.... the rear is mostly fill, so why use expensive speakers for fill?

Its amazing what sleep depravation can do. I read that 3 times and didn't notice that I forgot to put the "not" in. All better now.
If the system is so bad why don't I have more responses on how to make it better?

Nobody said the system was so bad We only had a few suggestions. If you put in kick panel speakers drop the 4x6s.

In his setup it will be more than fill unless he plans on getting kicks. I guess I should have said round speakers instead of oval. By design the oval speakers can only offer distortion at moderate to high listening levels.

He stated in his first post that he wanted to put the 6.5s in a "kick panel box" I assume that he meant kick panels, like Sexay's.

Yeah, if we wasn't using the kicks I think most people would recommend him using them :-)

I was talking about the poll. The majority of votes say "No, you're stupid go away."

LOL, I think most people check it because it is funny.

Kicks aren't bad at all as far as leg room. I don't have a manual, but on my AT I had no problems. I am 6'2" and have long legs. For a manual, I dunno, I haven't installed them in my 88 TA.

Depends on how good your ear is. I don't think there is a set of 4x6" speakers that will sound as good as some 6.5s in the kicks. Plus, as for the A-pillar, the problem is imaging. One speaker is right next to your head, while the other is all the way across the car. You get blasted by one and can barely hear the other.

There is a reason that Thirdgenners, and a lot of other people, go with speakers in the kicks, and it is because they sound the best oer basically any other option out there.
