Sub setup

Ok...

Here is the battle plan

I already bought my MDF for my subwoofer enclosure. I am planning on building the exact same setup alot of you are already running on this site with the back well filled in with the subwoofer enclosure.

I am planning on running 2 Kenwood Tornado series 700watt Subwoofers. I currently have 1 of them in the back of my winter car and I am really impressed with the performance that this box puts out so I figure 2 of them in a hatch back TransAm will really make some nice clean sound. SO!! Here is the setup

Still not sure on what I am gonna do for the head unit. I don't really like what the local kenwood decks are sporting for features however I did find a nice Sony Deck that had 3 preouts (2 high pass and 1 lowpass) which is good because in the near future I plan on dropping a 800watt amp to power the four speakers. I find external amps with more watts just makes aftermarket speakers sound so much cleaner. I have an 800watt Thump amp powering 4 Mobile Authority speakers and the clairity is unsurpassed.

Once the production phase comes into play I will take many pictures and keep you all posted.

i would ditch the capacitor, it wont take pressure off of your alt it will actually kill it faster because its like another small battery that the alt has to constantly charge. If your stock alt isnt enough for that setup (i think it would be) the best bet is to upgrade your big three wires and if that still doesnt work buy a higher output alternator should solve your problems.

Secondly i would stay away from sony head units as they are known for poor quality in the last couple years.

those subs sound horrible, have you ever actually heard them?

just take the 160 bucks and **** on it, that is what you will be doing when you buy those subs anyway.

you could buy 1 jl w0, and be much much happier with the sound/quality.
