Need your opinion badly!

Hey guys... I am going to pick up the Pioneer DEH-1600 deck on Wednesday to get it put in to replace the one that was stolen from my car. Now, this is a huge upgrade over the Clarion deck I had, which didn't even have sub control and was all in all ugly. I need to know, is Pioneer a pretty reliable name? I've never bought any Pioneer car audio things before. The price is right for the options I'm getting.

Also, I'm going to be running probably one 12" off of a Rockford amp, I can't remember the exact model number, but it was a 600 Watt and I believe a 301-s? Don't quote me on that, however.

Anyways, some opinions before I drop my cash would help!

Thanks guys

I have the DEH-1500

Heres the Good and the Bad:

Good:

Easy install
Easy to understand
Never skips
Cost is low
simplistic
pre-outs
4x50 watt
Detach Face

Bad:

No Dimmer
Reads burn cd's a little slow
design makes it stick out a little

I'd say my DEH-1500 is pretty damn good, not exactly competiton, but Im running 2 12's off it, and its working great.
Like I said before it reads burn cd's slow, only when u first start them, takes maybe 5 secs. Then they read fine. So not a huge downside.

Id say for the money I love my DEH-1500, glows a nice blue, silver faceplate. sounds awesome works great, the best part id say is its sooooooo hard to make it skip, going 45 kmh over speed bumps doesn't do a thing to it, in fact, I've had it since... Late June i believe, and I can only recall it skipping twice, I play it every time I go in my car.

the best thing about those pioneer units is you'll have a real hard time making them skip...some of them will even play upside down after the car has been rolled

4X4ing in a jeep...trying to go up a huge incline and the tires grabbed too much and just went over backwards. It was really slow, took like 3 full seconds for the jeep to fall.
