New sound for an old GTA

Just got the GTA last week. At least one factory speaker sounds like it's got a torn cone, so I decided might as well upgrade the entire system.

Spent most of the day Satuday at a Tweeter store listening to various stuff. Decided on the Boston Acoustic FX7 4x6s and FX93 6x9s with a Pioneer Premier deck w/ MP3 capability (50x4). Currently no amp. Just going to replace the factory speakers.

Any opinions on this setup? Any experience with this equipment? When it comes to car audio, I'm a little lacking in knowledge, but this set up sounded better than anything else that was in my price range.

Pioneer is always a solid bet for head units. I have no experience with boston acoustic, but I have heard many good things about them.

If you are just trying to upgrade your system from stock, and are not looking to blow people away, you will be fine with your current setup.

A thought, a mid grade 4 chan amp for the speakers would be an asset. You will get a cleaner sound, as your deck will not have to worry about amping the speakers anymore.

Otherwise, good choices
