hi all

well today sadly my cd player pooped out badly.
i bought it in dec on the 6th.
only played it maybe 10 times while messin round w/ the car like installing some speakers n junk.
took off face plate other day after playin it for a while went down road came back went move car out of garage, batery was dead.
so i thought ahh i played it too much cuz i got an el cheapo from advanced for like 20 bucks and my friend cranked it dead tryin get his car goin, i cranked her dead on my fullsize and cranked dead few times on my car as well so i assumed battery just junk.
wel today went put my faceplate on cd player and i had nothin no clock no power period.
so i assumed battery, car started right up so wasnt that.
so i began to trouble shoot everything.
checkin hot and ground connections which turned up ok, checked all fuses were fine.
so at this point i broke out the test lite.
grouned it to my roof since headliners out, checked my hots they were fine. also fyi i got my yellow memory wire and other hot wire which is normally acc or switched hot by when keys on or back it gets power only then and not w/o that being turned, but mines both wired constant hot so cd player turned off by the power buton on it. i done this mainly because i wont have to have keys to try otu radio and also no test lite and harnes butchered when i got the car so i had no clue what was what.
anyways worked fine til today had no probs.
i never mounted it in my dash til the other day just left settin on consoule cuz im not drivin mine in process of bein built and i installed it other day checked to make sure worked and did then removed face and went down road. came back n that swhen i said battery was dead then.
so i took today and checked in front of and behind the fuses for power w/ test lite which i had power, i was gettin power all way to the cd player or head unit as some call it so i began work on the ground.
my ground was hooked to the bolt in front of my 5 speed shifter holds the rubber boot on bottom down or something but went thru the floor pan trans hump and worked great, puled off and checked it out grounded it to the roof by were my test lite was still nothin. i took it apart were my head units ground wire met the wire i had put on to run to flor and clamped the ground part of test lite to it and stuck the lite prod end in the hot wire fomr radio and worked. so i was liek wtf!!!!
pulled cd player out brought in and my dads like hook ground wire to the lil bolt on back of radio so u can ground the chasis of the cd player he said it has to be i said dad it worked before w/o a wire hooked directly to the metal surroundin the cd player or the cd case.
so i took back out to try that but never got that far...
i hooked up my speakers plug and hot/ground plug and then took my ground wire to the roof to attach it for good ground and when it hit metal it sparked!!!
i said what a damn min no way in hel its supposed to do that ****.
so called wal mart to exchange it but had none in that price so im cd less now
it was an extreme sound one i got for 50 bucks.
so im thinkin it was junk to start w/ or all them brands are.

anyone else ever have same prob?

keep in mind it worked fine before noone done nothin to it i just ptu face on it today and had nothin.
began trouble shottin and had ground up on roof was fine then after removin puttin it back on it arced and junk so i unhooked it all.

only thing i can think may caused it if anything might have been when we charged battery some power surge but that should blew fuses before it got to radio since theres fuseabl link then lil black box but both were fine.

also when face is off them they have lil red lite blinks that wasnt even workin today just had no power to head unit at all.
anyone have the xtreme sound cd players w/ any luck?

so i wanted to cover all i had done.

all i can say is Sony Mobie car audio is $ht
i mean there new stuff.

the old stuff wasnt that bad

 

maybe but i dont have sony stuff lol.

only thing sony in my car is the speakers that came in it the rear 6 x 9s and some 61/2s i put in it

my head unit was xtreme sound.

went back n bought a jvc put it in listened o it for 10 mins or so took face off turned back on no sound..!!!!

so i got to trouble shoot it and if i cant get it worked wal marts gettin another pos cd player back and il get a pioneer for 120 and if that dont work **** it im not doin a system im so pissed at them cd players.

my dads had 2 rampages and one koss and one white westing house cd player and no troubles on any of em.
this last rampage is the only one thats been brand new others was used ones.

 

Quit shopping at Wal-mart! (especially for car audio) You can get a good Pioneer or something else on E-bay for about what your paying at Wally World.

 

well they sale good pioneers for not much for 120 and i wont shop online w/ the luck im havin w/ theese because for one what if they mess up?
gotta pay shipping to ship them to the factory or company made em. and pay shipping back.
or pay someone to fix them
and for what id have pay for shipping or repair i could buy a new one so im gettin em close so i can exchange them if need be.
however if this jvc is ****ed im goin to another place to get the same 120 pioneer wal mart sales for 120.

thats pretty fu(king dumb, do you realize you probably never have to fix it if you bought a good rspectable one online.

no im not ****in dumb i do realize that but im not made of damned money.

and the risk of it ****in up and me buying it online is ****ed up.
it dont matter now tho had speaker ****ed up on my jvc workin fine now.

my jvc i bought has more power overall and rms then the 120 pioneer anyways.

so im happy w/ it.
i dont put a huge **** load of money into my stereo equip because i dont have to have a huge blow windows out of my neighbors house 2 houses away lol which would be cool lmao. but just something that sounds *** to me and i know alot of ppl hate cheap **** and always dis and rag on it but hey if u cant afford a hole lot of stuff that costs alot or fraid it get stolen or something then hey its alot better then factory.
i know a guy now has all his stereo junk fomr wal mart n its cheap stuff and he can rattle windows in the gas station on the outside pumps so hey its all ok. just sometimes get junk like i did.

and yea if i had money id buy high end most expensive stuff id get like jls or somethign even more but for one dont have that kinda cash 2 dont need that much really and 2 too afraid it get stolen.
car alarms fail n sometimes dont work factory installed high end doesnt matter some can and do.
i go to great lengths as wel to keep ppl fomr gettin my junk tho
but no matter how hard or anything could still get taken if someone wnated to.
i dont put down anyone for high end stuff because that **** rocks and kicks *** but hey us poor boys got poor ways n some make it sound awesome some sound like ****.
liek mine my whole system is goin be pioneer pretty much except for head unit goin for pioneer 12s and 4 x6s and alreayd have the 6 x9s which are awesome sounding and bas pounding for 60 bucks a pair was a great deal and i love em.


by the way i think u runnin xtants aint ya?
