Tidbit of Interesting Information
Was just doing a camparison between the Factory ERS Tape Deck out of my RS, compaired to the first CD deck available.. Just on a local radio station. The power output and overal sound quality of the tape deck is far superior to the CD deck.. what a rather interesting, yet dissapointing discovery.. I would have been better off probably to put the factory tape deck in my car and a fm modulated cd changer.. v.s. the factory cd player.. lol
I was very impressed.. I never actually tried the factory deck when I got the car.. interesting.

Thats imposable you must of messed up something or got a real crappy cd deck.....is the antenna hooked up.
every cd player and radio ive hooked up in my previous and owned cars (8 in total) was way supperior to the factory gm decks not to metion all the decks ive instaled in my friends and familys cars blew the factory stuff out of the water.
What deck did you install??? I mean for there time the factory deck was good but thoes decks are almost 20yrs old!

?? I wasn't comparing to an aftermarket.. heck ya my aftermarket cd deck blows em both away.. but this was just comparing two original factory AC Delco units.. the tape deck was made in 88, and the cd deck was made in 89. ya the antenna was hooked up..
I think what made the dape deck unit better sounding was the EQ and the loudness button.. the CD deck has neither.. just the bass and treble.. just for overal clarity the tabe deck head unit sounded better. weird..

ohhhh opps sorry haha
yah i need to learn to read
I do see what you mean yah....i always like the glossy black factory decks better then some of the newer ones, sound wise and looks for sure. The eq and the loudness button would make it better...for sure.
