I have a five channel kicker amp running all my speakers and a 12" sub. It sounds 10x better than a stock setup. If I had some kickpanels, it would sound 100x better! Serious though it sounds good if tuned right.

More wattage to the speakers = cleaner sound. You will notice that a speaker intended to get 150watts rms will sound better when getting its 150watts rms over a speaker that is getting half that.

Basically, if you've got some speakers that are rated to have more wattage run to 'em, and you like to listen to your music loud, go get yourself an amp, because you'll be able to get the volume louder before it starts to distort.
If you listen to your music on a low level, there's no real reason to hook up an amp.

I would but rezn8r is still overseas I think. There's a guy on the classifieds that's trying to sell some red ones for a little too much since I would have to recarpet them and hope my speakers and especially the tweeters would fit. Since a bunch of tweeters range anywhere from 3 quarters of an inch to over an inch. When rezn8r gets back, I'll be adding some diamond audio components I got. I can't freaking wait!
