Alpine deck question

Hello,

I'm wondering if anybody out there knows much about Alpine in-dash receivers. I've been going through eBay looking for a used Alpine deck, only to find they seem to have about a million and one different models.

All their website lists is their newest models, so I have no idea what older models are any good. What I'm looking for is something like what they call a CDM-9821 right now, pretty much their bottom of the line, 180-W, 1-Pre Out deck, but maybe a model or two older so it is a little cheaper.

If anybody could help me out, that would be great. Thanks again,

-Dustin

Well one of the better deals there is for alpine decks is one thats 320.00. Has mp3 built in mini EQ, and all kinds of cool features and front rear and sub out!

You get what you pay for.

I am not too familiar with their older stuff, but can say that I have a CDA 7894 which I bought in Sept. 2002, that was right at the end of that model's production I believe. It is well loaded and plays MP3s, and I have not had a single issue with it so far. They can be had for about $200 so it seems on ebay. You can also go to www.alpine-usa.com and go to the tech center. When it asks you to log in, choose the consumer option. Then you can download owners manuals, spec sheets etc for older models.

Get almost any alpine. I have the 7994 MP3 deck, its awesome. First I had the 7895 then I was done with that as soon as mp3 decks became redily available. It was about 300 or so with shipping to Hawaii. I am constantly pleased with it, the only other deck I might go wit is Pioneer.

I can't remember the model number, but I have the din and a half that they put out. Dual RCA preouts, all the good stuff. No MP3 capability though, but it fits nicely in the dash and works great. Can't go wrong with alpine.
