calling all box builders

ok so the end of last summer i put together a sub box and amp rack then just pretty much parked the car for the winter...........

ok so last week it hit what almost 80 here in the city
so i rolled her out gave her a good cleaning and went
for a nice ride up 95 (almost forgot how much fun these cars are to drive ) anyway i noticed the weird sound from the rear like water moving back and forth just figured it was to half empty bottle of wiper fluid i left back there earlier........

well yesterday i finally got around to prying the sub box out of the hatch area to get it ready for the sub's anyway as i'm pulling off the top cover i felt something wet

so in short i have a leek somewhere in the rear hatch area and now i have small amounts of fuzz growing on the inside of my box........
(someone just does not like me very much)

it probably would have been a lot worse but i coated the box with several layers of sealant ironically just in case i developed a leek back there

i'l try to get a few pictures of it this weekend

ok so should i just build a new box or do you think i might be able to save this one?????

I had a similar problem with my GTA until I fixed the window seal.

If the box just has a little mold on it, sand it off and paint the box with some rattle can spray paint. If there's enough water that the box has soaked it up and is bloated or deformed, it's time to replace it.

if it isnt bloated sand it down like mentioned but you might want to coat it with a rubberizor and under carriage spray, something to seal off teh wood a little better than spray paint would.
