Does it truly make a difference what type of speakers you put in? I was looking at some pioneers and they seem to be teh only company that makes 4 way or higher speakers. They even had a pair of 6x9's that were 5way! does this really make a difference in sound quality?

In my opinion, it's a gimmick. Two-ways are all you need if you aren't running crossovers and components.

i have actually seen speakers in the 3/4/5 way groupings that are two way coax's, with a couple cardboard "cones". not even real tweet/mid-tweet etc.

p.o.s., there is no need for anything more than a two way.

I agree, 3+ ways are not needed.
These speaker companies try to make you think more is better.

Wait, so you're saying my 6-way Krakomatics aren't better than my friend's no-name Focal-something-or-other 2-ways? I don't think you know what you're talking about.

yeah, even if they include a "super tweeter" as some like to say, the frequencies put out by them (if they are even hooked up, not just show) are too high for us to possibly even hear. 2-ways are fine.

anything more than 3 way is excess..and the only 3way setup id run would be a true 3 way component set
