Bang for you Buck. Does Panasonic Deliver?
I just purchased a Panasonic Head Unit from e-bay for about $252.00 including shipping and handling. The unit I purchased was a Panasonic CQ-8400U. It is a cd/Cd-r/Cd-rw/mp3/wma player.
Thats the item i purchased on e-bay.

Some specs on it go as follows :
REMOVEABLE MOTORIZED DISPLAY FACE
DAY & NIGHT DISPLAY
PLAY CD/MP3/WMA/CD-R/RW
CD CHANGER CONTROL
HIGH DIFINITION (HD 3DDM)
REMOTE CONTROL
SQ7 (SOUND QUALITY CONTROL)
7-BAND EQUALIZER
CROSSOVER
DUAL PREAMP
SUBWOOFER OUTPUT
SBC SUBWOOFER
AUX LN & SPECTRUM ANALYZER
LEVEL METER
25 WATT RMS
60W x 4 (PEAK)
MOSFET
MEMORY: 18 FM AND 6 AM
FREQUENCY RESPONSE 20Hz - 20KHz
SENSITIVITY 11 dB
My question is do any of you guys own a Panasonic cd player in your thirdgen and if so do you like it? Also, do you think I made a good deal in buying this off of e-bay? Thanks.

I have only had panasonic head units in my cars and I love them. They are fairly inexpensive but they have a lot of features for them. I think you did well getting it off ebay. I just recently got mine off of ebay. Mine is a panasonic in-dash dvd player and I love the way it looks and sounds in my car. It lookes awesome with the tv I put in. I also got that off of ebay as well. Here is a pic of both of them in my car.

I have that exact same head unit in my car and I also got it off ebay. I LOVE it. People comment all the time on how much they love the 3D Graphics while driving. Its def. a good buy and you will really enjoy it.

A friend of mine bought a Panasonic about 2 years back, don't know the model number offhand. It works alright and looks decent, but has very poor midrange sound. He says he won't buy another Panasonic. For my money, instead of buying a Panasonic/Kenwood/Sony etc. with lots of features, I bought a lower model Alpine because of everything I've heard about their decks from users on this board and others.

Overall panasonic decks are pretty decent.I have used and installed several of their low end decks and many of them have performed better than some higher end stuff I have worked with. The 8400 is a good piece and I am sure you will be happy with it.Price you paid is pretty good too. That is about what I sell it for

I picked up a Panasonic about a month ago, awsome features for the price. My next one will probably be a Panasonic again, or Alpine. Basically, Panasonic is awsome, specially for the money
