Dang that seems pretty rare. At least from all the camaros I have seen in the past.

What's even more rare is that it apparently still works.

yeah those are rare, does anyone no if theres an rpo code for what kinda radio you have for 91 camaros? I want to put a 91 cd player in mine so it looks stock and plays Cds.
these are from my 91 with tape deck....
UN6 : RADIO, AM/FM STEREO, SEEK/SCAN, AUTO REV MUSIC
UQ1 : RADIO PROVISIONS, FOR STEREO
maybe if you go into the master list and look around those number i would think you could find it.

U1C is the option code for the factory CD Player. I'm one of those crazy guys who paid a lot for the factory deck. I got it for a good deal on e-bay. and then send it in through the dealer to be refurbished. Looks and works great. 1989 was the first year the factory CD player was available. Mine originally had the good tape deck with the EQ (still got it). but I wanted the CD player. If you want the greater possibility of playing CDr's get the newer one. I got one out of a 1994 Oldsmobile (last year it was avaialble). It has newer electronics. Though it is still picky as to which recorded cd's it'll play. but thats not a big deal to me anyways. The 1991-92 cd players where the only ones that had the yellow text on the buttons. The 89 - 90 had white text. I picked for mine white text with a silver/grey button face instead of the standard black button face. Looks much nicer.

question...i got one in my z..now it came with a pioneer pos that i ripped out, and put it back to stock (the car is stock front to back xcept the racing stripes and blackouts)....the radio works, but not the cd player..would the delcolock keep cd's from playing and let the radio work, or would the whole thing be useless?

if the radio is locked. then your out of luck. the whole thing is shut down until the correct code is put in. As for the text being yellow.. ya I think it might have been some kind of fad. was kinda silly when you look at it. Guess it would be ok. if the whole car was yellow..
