Anyone ever install 5 1/4 speakers in dash?

I just bought a pair of blaupunkt 5.25 inch speakers and was going to cut my dash to fit them into the car. I was wondering if anyone else has ever installed 5 1/4 speakers in the dash

I got 5.5" sony's in my dash right now. They dont fit. Even with the pad cut up. It almost does, but the metal in the pad is resting on one side of the suspention. 5.25"ers will work. I need some...

Cutting up your dash to squeeze a pair of blaupunkts in is way too much effort for way too little benefit. It's like upgrading the suspension on your rocking chair.

I got 6.5"s up in the dash right now... they just barely fit, but they do. Dash pad is snug, but isnt bending, or not fitting...
