Ever wonder why some "Car Audio Batteries" look alike?
I was researching "Car Audio" batteries and suddenly noticed that there a lot of different brands that are exactly the same design (different colors maybe).
EDIT: Well I can't get pics to load now so you wanna see the batteries you need to go the url below. Some reason there popping dead link on the post but they should still work on the url.
Battery article I found
Turns out Batcap, Dyna-batt, Stinger, Holley, and some others like buying batteries from Hawker then slapping their label on them. Then turn around and tell us that these batteries are specially designed for our Car Audio and jack the prices on us over a brand name sticker!
Most of us have probably seen the Batcap 800 (supposed 800 cca Cap
), well it turns out to be more or less a motorcycle battery.
I went to most of the sites listed on that url I gave earlier I found a place where I can get TWO 1700 CCA Hawker batteries shipped to my house for less than retail on the same battery that was marked up by Stinger. (Wasn't gonna order it but I just wanted to mention for an illustration.)
Talk about paying for a brand name.
Maybe I should go into the relabeling business start buying the G70EP's and putting a computer sticker on them and reselling them for $230 + shipping. That would under cut all the stinger ebay batteries on same design by over 50 bucks
Just figured I would share the info with you guys if anyone is thinking about getting a "BatCap" or car battery for their system. And please don't flame me, I know adding batteries to a poorly designed electrical system doesn't help.

Same thing with regular car batteries. There are only a couple companies that make car batteries. Many companies slap their sticker on it and sell it as their own.
My cousin works at a new car dealer. They sell "OEM" batteries. I forget which car maker it is, but they offer 2 models. One has a 2 year warranty, one has a 5 year. The only difference is the color sticker the sales guy slaps on the battery before he hands it over to you.
There isn't exactly a lot of different technology in batteries out there.

Yeah, so what do you think of the G70EP Jim? It looks likes it's clearly better than a D34/78 or even the D31 optima line. I'm not for sure but maybe after I get my HO alternator I might think about getting rid of my yellow top (D34/78) for a G70EP.

I think it's a battery. I use a Wal Mart battery. Dual terminals.
