everyone should just get a carputer, and find a way to use the cd-changer connector to change songs... that would rock

LOL! I never got into that; I work on computers all day and don't wanna think about 'em when I get home- if it wasn't for thirdgen.org I don't think I'd ever turn this thing on

Scrapmaker, I'm sure if ya did a google.com search, you could find someone on the 'net that's done that for whatever brand of radio.

FastRS, what's in this welcome kit thing? Just a username and password? I'm sure if you called their customer service # and threatened to cancel your service, they'd ship one out pretty quick

We don't know because we never got one. No where on their site do they describe what it is, either.

Sirius has a lifetime subscription. At the time I got mine, it was cheaper than a three year subscription to either Sirius or XM. One time charge, and no monthly service fee.

That alone sold me to Sirius.

You ever get yours? 7 months after subscribing and many calls and emails later I have yet to receive my kit.

Yeah I called again, got "We'll send it out," yadda yadda. Only thing keeping me to Sirius is The Wiseguy Show and some of the rock channels.

Know what I heard about XM, though? If you get the lifetime, it's the lifetime of the RADIO. So if your radio breaks, and you need to buy a new one, guess what, you need to buy another lifetime membership. It goes by the ID # that's burned into the radio.

I'm not sure if it's that way with Sirius tho. But it'd pay to check with their customer service first!

I'd never get a lifetime membership; I currently pay monthly. Just like with my cell phone; I sign up for the minimum contract length possible- just 'cuz you never know what might happen with technology.

apparently it was cheaper than a 1 year subscription is now.. but I bet they transfer your lifetime from one unit to another... or they could be sued...

I try to read the fine print on anything like that.

Nope, they wouldn't transfer- the person would be stuck because it WAS in the fine print. Just figured I'd warn some people! (I always read the fine print too; if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!)

well, luckily, most units don't break...

I'm with you, I wouldn't want a lifetime agreement either

xm has more stations than sirius, but sirius is comming out w/ a ton on new products. they've even paired up with microsoft so they are going to take xm off the map in a couple of years. also they are comming out with a video interface so you can watch the music video or sports from your sirius unit. i work at circuit city's roadshop and the sirius rep was showing me a ton of stuff they are comming out with, even the contract with microsoft. so for now, i'd go with xm, but in a couple of years...sirius is going to be top dogg!

On XM can you listen to all the stations on-line? I know sirius you can only listen to music stations.
