question b4 i finish my box

i had an idea.... b4 i finish my fiberglass enclosure i wanted know...
will the sound quality of my subs be compromised if i mount the in the the box facing rearward.... the box is pretty form fitting and if i mount them there will be very little space infront of them( i would use a modified "inverted" set up.)

I've heard people say that the rear mount gets better low end response and that top mount gets better drum kick. I have yet to experience that for myself, since I have a top mounted sub and have just the opposite (better low end, not the best drum kick). I notice my bass change any time I put something in the trunk that takes up the rest of the space around the box. I moved most of my "emergency supplies" (blanket, jumper cables, first aid kit, shovel) from the rear well and put them behind the plastic panel with the spare tire. It freed up some room and improved the sound overall.
If you have done any sound deadening, it will probably sound good all around no matter how you mount it - I will be doing my car in the next month and will likely post pics of the install and the results.

yea... i realized that i was stuck with top mount becuz of me box tolerances..... either way i didnt finish my box like i had hoped because my intake manifold decided to be gay and leak outa the thermostat house( been leaking; long story) well long story short... all day wasted trying to salvage the old manifold and after that i need to buy a new one....
