Do you have an aftermarket head unit?

Bypass what amp... the stock one? Then do you have the Bose radio stock?

Is it a 3rd gen?

my friend had a mustang and on his stock radio ford put little amps from the deck to the speakers because most stock stereos dont have anypower runing to them. go to a local soeaker shop and ask for a piece that runs from ur stock stereo to you amp and that might help. its like 20 bucks

Not true. Even in new cars, most stock radios have a built in amp. Many do have external amps, yes, but that is usually paired with a higher stereo option; hence not necessarily stock.

I think Ford likes having external amps... which I think is a good thing...

Lincoln town cars have external amps (fairly powerful too!) behind the rear seats

GMC 1500 series trucks have amplifiers too.... stock radio
