Rockford doesn't make a 8001 amp... unless it's last year's model? They have an 8002 amp and an 8004 amp?

8002 runs at 800w bridged at 4 ohms
400w x 2 at 2 ohms
and 200w x 2 at 4 ohms

Their mono amps are only offered in 3001 and 6001

only way that i would buy a straight up rockford fosgate system like that is if i worked at best-buy and could get the extremely cheap prices of them. if your talking about paying full retail prices for those i think, personally, you should go wtih something else. but whatever floats your boat man. that set up should hit pretty decent though...

im just not a big fan of fosgate.

well he obviously works at best buy, becaues no one would buy all that RF stuff... when you can get cheaper stuff online, that's actually higher quality.

since you're building this system from the ground-up... you might consider some kickpanels, and just skipping the whole 4x6 thing... almost anyone on here will swear their lives to the improvement by switching...

I also haven't heard too many good things about the RF 6x9 products... they tend to remind me of the pioneer/sony stuff.. where they just look flashy and sound like crap... if you are going to go RF make sure you get the best RF stuff you can... anything less than that and you're going to end up with a mediocre system at best.

hifonics makes some cheap powerful amps that you can readily find online.

yea sorry it is the 8002. i knew something didn't look right. anyways no i don't work at best buy. i got a deal on the subs which were 200 for both speakers brand new. an audio place i went to had a sale. i went with all rockford because i didn't want to mix match crap. i bought rockford fosgate subs and i'm not going to use an audio bahn amp. rockford made an amp to run them speakers to what they should be ran by. 6x9's i went to best buy and listened to them and i thought they sounded good. they were 120 dollars for the set. i plan on using the amp to run just the subs. head unit to run the 4x6 and 6x9 ? i don't really have the money to buy 2 or 3 amps.

ha! thats what you get for being such a smartass. in his quote he said he didnt work at best buy!

anyway. back to the subject. you can get a 4channel amp to power those side speakers really cheap. those sides arnt going to perform that great. you can pick up a name brand 4 channel amp for probably around $100. just got to look around for one. as a matter of fact i saw a 4 channel clarion 200watt amplifier used for $80 and a car audio place. ..

Ryan... how is it that I receive a "that's what you get," for being such a 'smartass'? of course he responded... the only possibilities in the world that he would have so much RF stuff is that he either works at BB, or he got it for free/very cheap... it happens to be he got a good deal.

yup... he doesn't work at best buy.... man he got me good! whew!

but seriously, think about components, even if you go with RF

just myopnion but dont get rockford.. its way overrated.no offence to those who have it but i have not heard any rockford systems that really impress me.. id say go with JL Audio, unless your gettin the stuff for free or cheap then go for it free is a good price.. JL is a lil more expensive but its quality and will hit hard as sht.... one 10w7 on a jl 500/1 will more than satisfy u im sure... once agin just my opnion

I have an audiobahn amp and i must say.. it hits pretty hard wiht these crappy subs.... You can find some high power amps online for really cheap. BTW audiobahn only rates there products in RMS and my amp is 800 watts RMS @2ohms. It can be had for about $150 online i think

Ugh, I used to work at Best Buy, and yes, I did buy all RF stuff for my girlfriend.

Lets just say the service plans (which were only a few $$ each for employees) sure do come in handy for their amps.

And the subs didn't hit any harder than my cheaper Audiobahns.

All in all, I wasn't impressed, at all, by their stuff. They are now just playing off the good reputation they got back in the day.

really, to compare amps... id have to have both amps hooked into my system( at diff times of course) to keep most variables the same
