Dust cover on subs pushed in, how do I get it back out?
My JL 10w3's center dust cover got pushed in and now I'm trying to find a way to get it back out? Any ideas?

Some have had good luck using a shop back to suck it out. I've never found that to be particularly effective.
What typically works best for me is to stick a piece of tape to it, and press the tape so that it's stuck well. Tug on the tape to pull up the dust cap, then peel the tape off.
Others have made small pin holes, and put a hook type device through the pinhole to pull it up, but then you have a visible pinhole.
Another solution is to carefully cut the dustcap off of the cone with a razor, being very careful to only cut through the glue. Once it's off, straighten it out and reglue it.

while you're in there, check out the voicecoils...
how would the sub sound with the dustcap completely removed?
would the box then become unsealed?

However, having a vented pole piece means that u can reach in thru the hole in the magnet. When this happened to my buddy's sub, we used about 125psi compressed air to blow the cap back out. Just hold onto the cone so that it can't reach full excursion and rip the suspension. Start w/ maybe 80psi and increase as necessary.
