What kind of cheap amp
I am going to be purchasing 2 12" Aduiobahn AW1251SE subs off of ebay and I am trying to find a decent sounding 2 channel amp for under $100. I was thinking something like:
1000W Legacy
1000W Powerbank
1000W Pyramid
1200W Ultra Linear
any opinions?
And i was also considering buying another 4 channel to run my 4X6s and 6X9s for

if you really want something cheap buy a profile amp off ebay. They prolly dont put out quite what they say and may be a lil over 100 for what you seen to want but they are built well. While lots argue that all cheap stuff is just that,...cheap....ive gone through 6 profile amps new and old and i never hesitate to recommend one to a friend on a budget

Cheap overrated class D subwoofer amps are a dime a dozen. Most of the cheap ones come from the same couple places in china, so there isn't a ton of variation. They're all overrated, but will still make pretty good power. With those subs, the sound quality of the amp won't be an issue anyway, so just look for something that'll get loud.
Hifonics, profile, Lanzar, alphasonik, and plenty of others, while still not what I'd call "great", are at least a step above the junk you listed.
A lot of these cheaper amps do make a lot of power, though still not as much as a more expensive brand (typically). The difference is that the cheaper amps are made with much cheaper components, plus they are overrated. Rather than use 140* C caps like a better amp uses, a lot of the cheaper ones will use 85* C caps that will usually break down sooner. Lower tolerance, less expensive components translates into an amp that won't sound as good, won't make it's rated power, and probably won't last very long.
I'd look into the Phoenix Gold Xenon amps. They're more expensive than the real cheap crap, but they seem to be a very good amp for the money.

Look around online at some amps over $100 MSRP and try have them pricematched at places like TheZeb or Sounddomain.
Woohoo! I need some wheel chocks.

Cheap amps not only fail to make their rated power, but their crossovers are also crap. Something else to consider.

My brother's Lightning Audio 150x2 sounds great, I reccomend it. He uses it with a Kenwood 12" sub and it sounds suprisingly clean and hits great. He actually gets compliments on it all the time but doesn't mention it cost only $100.
If you have two amps - one cheap, one of good quality - is it better to run the cheap amp with the sub and the better amp with the component speakers, or vice versa (assuming appropriate power requirements/crossover settings are met for each speaker with either amp)?
