Whacha think about this?????

I just came up on some high end equipment.

Hifonics Boltar amp
Directed 400, and 250
Three Crossfire BMF 10"
and a double DIN Alpine.

I want to use this setup in my '88 bird. I have some Infinity Reference 6x9s, and some 6.5s for the kicks.

So, 6.5s powered by the Directed 250, The 6x9s powered by the Directed 400, and the three subs powered by the Boltar.
I want to build a box without seperations for the well.

Thoughts?

just make sure you can get the right ohm impendance w/ your amp. Will you have enough airspace for 3 subs?

I think if it were mine, I would use the 400 on the 6.5s to get better headroom from the front, then the 250 on the 6x9s.

Why? because the 6x9s usually overpower the fronts anyway in the F-Body cars just by seat placement.

Also in the real car auido world, you want cleaner, more powerful sound from the front than the back.

Yes you will have enough area for 3 10s. I have a Firebird in town here that has 3 12" JL w3s that hits 150+ all day for 4 years now.

Yeah, I'm very well aware of the fact that sound quality dictates that there should be little to no sound comming from behind you, (if you do a search on "sound quality rules" you'll see a very heated arguement between me and another board member) so read that thread before you try to tell me what the "real car audio world" is all about. But as I stated before, I like to have a surround effect. I'm not into the whole "sound stage" thing. I do agree that the 6x9s over power the fronts no matter what's up there. Maybe I'll go another route for power there. I don't know if my 6.5s can handle the 400, and I know that the 6x9s can. I'll figure that out later. I just need to come up on an idea for a box.

while i agree there are certain guidelines to sound quality and getting the most out of your system, you have to realize sound quality is judgemental........what sounds good to some people might not sound good to others (front stage, no rear fill vs. surround sound)
