weird speakers in the back
wellllll i took off my sail panels expecting to find some 6x9's, but instead i've got this plastic housing holding a 4x6 and a 5.25...i ditched the 6x9's i was going to install and got pioneer 3 way 4x6's..4 of them total (2 for the front) and 2 rockford 5.25's..i hope it sounds good but do you think i'll need to amp the speakers? i'm running a pioneer premier 750 and i have 2 12" subs going in too.
whats up with the speakers int he back though..was that something included with the performance sound? anyone else have this?

i have heard that it was in cars that had a special option for an upgraded stereo system in the cars.. There have bee a few other people who have had the same speakers and have wondered.. I think that there might have been built in amps on the back of some of the speakers though.. not sure as I did not have that ( made it nicer when i upgraded all my speakers and put subs in to run the 2 amps (one for the 4 regular speakers and one for the subs)

You should defantly run an amp for your subs if for no other reason than your head is ONLY suposed to have 4 ohm loads put on it. Others have wired their subs to their rear speakers, but I don't approve. This also brings up an interesting point of trying to run a 4x6 and a 5.25 off the same channel...
More info on the performance sound package (that's what your rear setup is called) can be found in this thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=306037

yea i'm running a seperate 2 channel amp to the subs and i have the rear 4x6's and 5.25's on the same channel because apparently the original head unit was 6 channel and my premier is 4..there was no power going to either 5.25's, so i put them on the same channel as the 4x6..think that will be a problem? where i thought there wouldnt be enough sound, it actually sounds pretty good..there isnt much bass but the highs and mids are there so when the subs go in i think i'll be pleased with it.
