I need help with wiring

I've searched and searched..and when i think i understand what i need to do..i find something else thats totaly different. I need help wiring my subs to my amp in 2ohm mode..

I have the Rockford Fosgate P5002 amp
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...h%20Amplifiers

And 2 Volfenhag ZX4712DVX subs
http://www.eslake.com/item/ZX4712DVX.html

The subs are dual 4ohm voice coils and the amp is 2 chan. that can operate at 2ohm or 4ohm. I've only got one coil hooked up per sub. I wanna get my bang for my buck outta the subs/amp. Someone told me I need to use only one channel to hook them up, and someone else told me I need to use both..I'm lost!! If someone can show me in a picture how to wire them up, I'd be very thankful. Thanks guys.

James

Is that what I should do?

Would it be more powerful than just hooking up one coil per sub? and, do i only use 1 chan. on my amp?

assuming the rms is 500watts apiece you can't use that amp. That amp is 500watts X 1channell. You can see in the link you can only wire (2) dual 4 ohm subs to either 1 or 4 ohms. Your amp isn't 1 ohm stable, so you need a new amp.........or new subs, i'd go with new subs imo............hope this helps.

so, hooking them up to their own chan. using 1 coil is all I can do?

your subs should of came with a warning on using both voice coils on each sub. I've never used only 1 vc, but i know you're supposed to use both...in the 250rms range, look at the memphis PR series, very good for the money.......my friend has 1 15 in his 98 silverado off that same amp and it pounds.........

Would it be better if I used 1 sub, hooked up using both voice coils? Would that sound better than the 2 subs running on 1 vc each?

i don't have money to buy any new subs or amp, so thats outta the question.

with (1) dual 4 ohm vc sub you can wire it to 2 or 8 ohms........if you'r low on cash, sell the volfenhags and use that money......
