what to clean sub with?

what to clean sub with?
a guy told me the other day that i could use WD40 to clean the cone of my sub, he also said it would help my "foam surround" from dry-rotting. anyone heeard of this???
that got me thinking... what about armor-all? thanks guys.

never heard of it. i imagine it would make your sub shiny until it dried up, and probably not be very good for it.
armorall however is fine to use on your speakers.

actually though, that was mike, the maker of soundsplinter speakers that told me that. my rl-p has a rubber surround. so im not positive armorall will be good for a foam surround but it shouldnt hurt. try it on a small portion first.

I've heard armorall cracking dashes and drying them out so I definitely wouldn't use it. How about a damp cloth?

All of the subs that I have had I have cleaned with Black Magic. It comes as a tire cleaner and there is an interior cleaner as well. I have always used the interior cleaner on my subs and on my interior and I love it. Might give it a try.

Most interior protectants use silicone, which is something I absolutely WOULD NOT put near foam surrounds.
Use a damp cloth to clean your subs. Once you get them clean, keep the slurpees away from them and dust them off once a week with a california car duster. That will prevent you from needing to ever clean them again.
