Kenwood KDC-X859 Problems

So I was driving the TA after finally getting the battery charged and the car up and running.. I was listening to a cd and trying to get to the audio settings to set up the sub... i then hit the angle/eject button and the face flipped down and the cd came out far enough where you could probably grab it by the tip of your fingers... i touched the cd and it spit it completely out. I then reloaded the cd and it went in, but the face never went back up and it switched to the tuner... and now the only control i have is the volume... I turned the car off and back on to try to reset it, but it still didn't work. Any idea what this could be?!?!?!

Sounds like the ribbon cable to the faceplate is bad, not uncommon with Kenwood. You can try the reset button. To get the CD out, try holding down the eject button for 5 secs, may not work but give it a try. Is it still under warranty?

No, its definately not under warranty

It has been sitting for about a month - is in my '91 seen below that gets driven once or twice a month... this time it just crapped out on me.. i'm hoping a wire or something came lose and can be fixed.. it is a pretty cool looking cd player!

Don't think it's going tobe wiring problem. Good news is that it is repairable.
