wire colors?
Hey. Wiring up my head unit, and the asshat who had the car before me cut the harness, so I just have a jumble of wires. I seem to have gotten most of them, but does anyone know what color wire does what in the stock 87 Firebird?
Actually, I did pretty good with guesswork. The headunit comes on (and goes off!), and will play out of the rear speakers (but, I wired them into the front speaker wires on the head unit, apparently). Really, I guess I just need to know what the front speaker wire colors are.
It's entirely possible I don't have front speakers, too. I really don't know, and I started this project kinda late, and it's now dark out. Rather than trying to get in there to see what I have, I figured checking the wires would be easier.

Some of the colors are used twice for totally different things. Be sure to use a volt/ohm meter to check the wires before connecting them.

Thanks. I'll have to pull it out one day and check it all. Right now, i'm just leaving it as it is. I have a radio, i'm happy at the moment. Gotta wait for a nice day when I get motivated to pull everything out again.
