need wiring help w/ single 12"DVC sub and mono amp

I am kinda new to this car audio stuff and need a little helpwith somthing. I am interested in getting 1 12" subwoofer fo rmy car mounted in the spare tire well and I am looking at the Kicker line of subs and amps. The kicker subs all have this DVC setup that has me a little confused when it comes to ohms. Basically all I need to know is which is the best route to take in getting a single 12" DVC sub to work with a single channel mono amp. I am looking to get the Kicker KX600.1 amp and one sub for it. Which is the best Kicker sub for this amp? The CVR series or the L5 series? and what ohm rating do I get for the amp to work correctly? sorry to sound so dumb here but the kicker site has a lot of info I cant access righ tnow cuz its in PDF format and mine is crashing.

update: I have been doing some research since I posted and I think I have this somewhat figured out. If I get Kicker KX 600.1 amp and 1 Kicker 4 ohm 12" solobaric L5 and wire the 2 coils in parallel to the amp then I will be creating a 2 ohm load to the amp. That amp is rated at producing 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms. The speaker is rated at 600 watts RMS as well. Does this sound correct or am I missing something here? these are the specs fo rthe amp and sub:

AMP:
300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
variable low-pass crossover (50-200 Hz, 12 dB per octave)
variable bass boost with wired remote (0-18 dB at 40 Hz)

SUB:
Watts peak/ RMS----- 1200/600
available in 2 and 4 ohm models

I'm not sure if you have changed your mind since then, but in case you haven't...

Buy the sub with dual 4 ohm coils if you're going to be sticking with that amp. You can then run the coils in series, which will put a 2 ohm load on your amp. Any amp will make more power with a lower numerical load until you pass what they're rated for (ie going lower than the minimum listed number – 1 ohm on a 4 ohm amp) and then you usually end up destroying the amp. Since the kicker is rated down to 2 ohms, you will be fine.

I thought running 2 4 ohm coils in parralell(sp) to the amp created a 2 ohm load? Your telling me to wire them in series

You're exactly correct, I always say the wrong thing even though I can walk out to my car and take a picture of what I did

Series on a 4 ohm dvc = 8 homs, parallel = 2.
