Don't know if anyone on here know much about these Speakers or not, but am just wondering if you can bi-wire them off a 4ch or 2 2ch amps?

 

From what I've read they're a pretty decent speaker, especially for the money. You can bi-amp them if you choose to but doing so would require either a 4 channel amp or two two channel amps as you posted. I'm not sure it's worth the resources to biamp these speakers (or many other sets of speakers for that matter).

they're not bad, but you can do better for the money. all they are is rebadged, higher priced CDT's. i'm not sure which model, i think the eurosports, but i know they're identical.

 

Sorry mean but I'm going to disagree. There are a lot of common points I’m sure but they use different tweeters at the very least. Ben is adamant about this and there are people over on ICIX that have switched between the two and have found ED's design to be to their liking. They call the tweeter more musical and say that the woofer is capable of pumping out more midbass.

Also, even if they are just rebadged euprosports, CDT sells those speakers for $500+. ED only wants $250 for their set. I’ve never heard any of ED’s speakers but I did listen to some CDT stuff when I was auditioning speakers a while ago and it did sound pretty good. If I knew I could get better than what I heard for $250 from an internet company I might have jumped on the idea.

It's kinda like alumapro's amps (or someone else, I forget who). They use the same chassis as ED and there were a good deal of people claiming that the amps were the same despite vastly different output, internals, etc.

 

They use some of the same parts for the xover such as the main board but thats pretty much where it ends. Internals are the different for the speakers. CDT is just the build house, much like eminience or Vifa is for MANY other speaker companies.

Back to the original question yes you can bi amp them or any comp set with a 4 ch amp and a good xover. Although I'm with gummie I have heard them both ways I think using the exisitng xover is pretty good unless you are looking for an above the norm stereo and are a control freak.

 

Hey what do you guys think about eDi 6500 in Reznator kicks and some eU 700's in the sail panel all powered off a eD nine.4? I can get it all off eD's site for under 500.

 

That's the main reason why the ED bug bit me - price/performance ratio I'm currently running a NINe.2x and am probably going to be aquiring a NINe.1 within the next month. Subs will follow (maybe ov.2s) but for speakers I will stick to my MB Quarts.

I thought about running 700s in either my sails or building them into my next sub box but I decided against it because it doesn't work out with the amps I have. I also thought about building a 10+ woofer box out of 700s (why not, they're only $50 each and have a ton of throw) but I decided that it would be too flashy/likely to get stolen.

I say go for it if you want to but keep the 700's to the low frequency stuff so they won't screw with the sound stage that much. Either that or move them to the hatch.

 

The 9.4 won't be powerful enough for the 700s plus the sail panel isn't sealed off enough from the rest of the car to make the sound very good. I would get a 9.2 for the 6500s and if you need/want more bass get subs in a box.

You could put a pair of eu700s in the trunk in a ported box. The do pretty well for the size of them. I have put 16 in a 2000 blazer in a big ported box and they get way to loud for me. During the time I was playing with these speakers I also built a 1 cu ft ported box tuned to 30 htz and the sound and outpur was way above what i expected. Not gorund shattering by any means but sound very good.
