Cd player fitment
I tried to search but got nothing. I am sure this has been asked before, but Ill give it a go.
I need to know if a factory sunfire cd player will fit my 91 firebird. I have found a few on e-bay, and elsewhere, and need to know if it will work. Im not scared to do a little trimming, or wiring. I am sure someone here has swapped one in. Which ones do I need to get? Will one like this: eBay: Delco GM Pontiac OEM AM/FM CD player radio 94-01 (item 9708796993 end time Apr-12-06 18:01:55 PDT)
Work? I am only interested in a factory pontiac radio. I like the stock appearance.

From looking at the picture I would say that it should fit without any problems although I have no direct experience. Should fit like any other double din unit.

my best guess is that if anything it will fit except the right side bracket and possibly left will have to be changed to go into the radio pod.

Drops right in. Use the stock Camaro brackets and wire it up!
You may need an antenna adaptor (I know 92+ did, not sure of 91) as the GM antenna was smaller than the 80's ones.

Well, Ill be buying a monsoon from a guy in our club. Its out of a '99. But how do I disarm the antitheft function? Im sure it has one, and dont know how it works. I had one in another car of mine, and it required a 4 digit code to be entered before it would work. Is that how these 4th gen radios work?

EDIT: I guess I was wrong. I thought the Monsoon had external amps:

Okay, I found this on another site:
But, will this work, if the radio is my car? And not in the original car?
And I did a search and found one or two who said they had used a monsoon. I guess Ill do a more thorough search.
7.Theftloc Bypass
1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed 2. Write the numbers down.
3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers
4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 202107, press the “button” and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.
5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.

Try this. I found it on another forum.
The dealer quote listed on the thread does not work, but i was able to find one on the internet. The 5-digit code which did it for me was 06010. Before this a 2 must be entered for Pontiac, and an asterisk after, so when prompted after calling 1-800-537-5140, pontiac guys enter: 206010. The website where i got the dealer code is here: Google cache.
