big amp, where to mount?
This thing is not huge, but pretty big. Any ideas where I can mount it in a stealth location??
I don't want to mount it in the spare tire area because I'm trying to find someone to make me a stealth sub box for that area, and I use the glovebox in the trunk. It is too big to mount flush in one of the back bucket seats...
Any other ideas?

The glove box isn't that big so you might be able to fit it underneath it. Other options include building it into your enclosure (generally not recommended) or just screwing it down to the carpet on the hump like the first picture. Just be careful not to use screws that are too long because the gas tank is right below the sheet metal.

ya I tried to fit it in the glovebox side already.. it won't work unless I remove the box altogether.. which I wouldn't want to do. I was thinking of building a panel and mount it to the rear piece/side where the hatch motor sits.. and mount it there sort of like an amp rack.
anyone done something similar before?

im planning on making an amp rack to go where one of my back seats goes, with one of the amps on the angle and one flat where the bottom part of the seat was. my amps are 19 inches and 25 inches. thing is probably too big to mount in the seat if you have split seats.
is that the 2500?

My KX800.4 plopped perfectly right at the bottom of the lowest rear trunk area. If you wanted to conceal it you could make a discreet carpeted panel that sits across the two lower humps just making the rear look shallower (don’t forget some kind of vent for Mr. Amp down there).

Enough padding, extra insulation plus thick carpet .. in my case the amp stays simply because everything is so thick and the screws just dig in real good.
Gummie's idea's an excellent one though.

Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
if you are putting screws throught the trunk floor above the gas tank figure out where you wnat the holes and get a 1/16 bit. wrap tape around it so only 1/8th inch or less is exposed. (wrap a lot so it has a flat surface so that the bit will not shoot through the completed hole more than the 1/8th or so. slowly srill the hole and when the bit popps through the tape wrapped around it will stop it from going deep. then you can poke a toothpick or something throught the hole to see exactly how muych room you have to work with. Much safer than guessing.
