think its possible to mount an amp in the 6x9 locations

Im in the process of building boxes to mount my two kicker amps into my split rear seat but I am running into small issues with the routing of the wiring through the split seats and out to the side of the car. I was thinking that maybe it would be easier to mount them inside the sail panal arear where my 6x9's use to be. Oviously I would have to cut out the meatal in there and make a new mounting plate for the amp. has anyone tried this and is there enough room in there?

If you had a small enough amp (older alpine or the like) then you might be able to pull it off. You might want to think about trying to install one underneeth the cardboard glove box in the hatch. That area has a lot more room.

I have thought about that location. Maybe I will end up using my back seats for the amps after all. Im half way done with them right now. I just dont know how its gonna turn out once I wire it all up. I gotta figure out a way to run the wires out of the seat so that there not seen and there not gonna get pinched or pulled out if I fold the seat down. Ive got 2 amps and a split rear seat so its kinda difficult right now.

How about behind the rear plastic panel that hides the hatch motor. Is there enough room between the metal body andf plastic? my amps are 2 1/2" thick

There's not that much room by the hatch pull down because the plastic is contoured to the motor fairly well.

I haven't finished my rear seat amp rack yet but I plan on running my wires in where the seats bolt on/pivot so there won't be much stretching involved if I ever fold the seat down.

Not on the bottom of the seat but on the sides, right were it pivots.

Yes they are One of the best looking amps out there IMO.

The crossovers aren't that bad either

I promise better pictures (not dusty/better focus) once the install is done.

Sorry for the hijack BOTTLEDZr28.
