Need Major Help with New Subs
Our setup consist of a kenwood unit with a 2x520 amp. In the back with have 2 JL 10w-3 4 ohm DVC's Anytime the radio is turned up or the bass boost it kicked on , on the amp, the light turns red, then to green kicking the subs on , then back to red , then back to green. What would cause this? Also we also had it one time where the subs acted up and literally came up 3 inches and scared the $hit out of me. It was like a massive surge. We are running 4G from an Optima to a splitter then an 8g 2 feet to the amp. Any suggs?

Turn your gain control down on the amp because it sounds like your amp is clipping. See if that fixes the problem, if so then you know that the gain cannot be turned up any higher or it exceeds the limits of the amp's capability.
