tune amp?
I just got done putting in the my Alpine MRP-M350 amp and 2 12" Type-E subs. Install here. I want to tune the amp. But the instuctions say to use a Dynamic cd. What is a dynamic cd? This is my first actual system. So I don't have any clue what I am doing tuning wise. I just turned the thingys on the amp till it sounded good. But I would like to do it right so I won't fry something. Thanks in advance for the help! Adam :-)

Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
simple method:
turn amp gain almost all the way off. turn up HU untill sound starts to distort and back off a bit. go back to your amps and slowly turn up gain untill you hear distortion and back off a bit.
more complex method:
JL Audio
The fist way is how I did mine, but the second way I am assuming is better if you know what your amp should be putting out.

i have no clue what the dynamic cd is but i tuned my amp just by listening to if it sounded good and it hasnt blown and ive had it for over 2 months. im sure if you ask someone that works at a stereo shop they will tell you how to do it and if theyre nice enough probably do it for cheap if not free

in 13+ years I have nver used a "Dynamic CD" Hell I wouldnt be able to tell a dynamic cd from your run of the mill Ghetto cd....
I normally use something that is somewhat musical, IE acoustic, (I think that is the word Im looking for. not electric, not synthesized, more MTV Unplugged type) Joe Satriani, Loreena Mckinnett, Charlot Church. Something that covers the whole spectrum from bass to Uber High.
so far I havent blown anyting.

Well from what I can tell is the dynamic cd plays a 50hz tone so you can adjust the subs. They have ones that play 100hz for mids and so on and so on. It just makes it easyer for people who don't know what there listen for. I know what distartion sounds like. But I don't know if it's at 50hz or not. Adam :-)
