Orion or Infinity?

I'm upgrading from my 17 y/o factory speakers and I can't decide between 2-way Orion C-series speakers or Infinity Kappas. I listened to the Orions at an audio store and they sounded great. I have yet to listen to the Infinitys, but I constantly hear outstanding reviews on them. Anyone have experience with either? The biggest difference I see between the two is that the Infinitys handle more power, but I seriously doubt I'll ever need to run 330W through one speaker.

On a side note. I tried hooking up a different 6x9 that was lying around, didn't work, put the old one back in and that one then didn't work. I was told that the power/channel diode or something in the wire had probably died from trying to install a shorted speaker. Anyone heard of this? If so, how do I fix it?

I am a HUGE fan of infinity kappa's.. their clarity is unmatched for the dollar value in my opinion. the only other speakers I've personally heard (and bought) which sounded better were A/D/S 320is and 325is series.. but at that time they were higher priced and have since risen considerablly more!

infinitys are better subs.

as for the speakers not working, you might have to run new speaker wire. try that.

Well I picked up the Orions yesterday, all stock sizes. They tried to get me to do kick panels, but I didn't want to spend the money to buy them nor the time to try to make them (maybe later down the road). I liked how they sounded in the store and in the vehicles I heard, so I went with them. No place near me sold Kappas or I would have listened to them too. We'll put them in tonight so I'll let you know what I think of them. Thanks for the help.
