Factory Bose Stereo

I have an 88 Iroc w/ the Bose stereo system. 2 speakers in kick panel and 2 in the rear hatch. The problem I'm having is only 1 speaker works with the occasional second. I looked at the little speaker boxes and took out the amp finding this to be the problem.

I bought new speakers but to my surprise you can not use after market speakers with this factory head unit.

Is their someone who sells the amps cheaper then $ 75 each or do I have to suck it up and pay? Also can anyone tell me will the Bose amped speakers work with an aftermarket stereo? ( probably not because of the whole head unit thing)

Will I be better off to start fresh from crutchfield? Any suggestions.

me and my father went to go see what it would take to use the factory speakers(bose system) in his vette, with an aftermarket cd player/radio, and it would take either a complete rewire OR an aftermarket cd/radio that was bose friendly.. and we havent found one of them yet haha
